We are so very fortunate that we live in an area of Florida that is filled to the brim with culture and variety. Every single event that occurs in our neck of the woods injects life into our community, especially those events that are artistic in nature.
Art is something that defines us humans and separates us from other species in the planet, which is why it’s so important to cultivate art at every chance we get. Many art events will be happening quite soon and we want to give you the scoop so you can plan attending! Check it out!

Four different art events will be happening in the near future and each of those events is quite unique in nature. Check out what each of the events will offer to those who decide to attend.
- McRae Open House: A 27-year-old institution in Central Florida, The McRae Art Studios in Winter Park is a safe haven for artists. The institution, which is made up of 20 or so artists, is picky as to who is admitted to the group. The studio will be holding an event, “Spring Sale & Open Studios,” on Saturday, March 29 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The studio is located at 904 Railroad Avenue in Winter Park. It’s suggested you arrive early, since it tends to get packed pretty quickly!
- Folk Festival: Festivals are the perfect event for Floridians! We get to enjoy the gorgeous weather and warm sun on our skins as we hang out with family and friends. At the folk festival, you’ll be able to do just that while you look at art exhibits, groove to live entertainment, take your kids to fun children’s activities and nurture your soul with some authentic Cajun food! The festival will take place on March 29 10 am to 4 pm at 642 W. New England Avenue in Winter Park.
- Faculty exhibit: Always wanted to see art made by those who teach art for a living? Check out the Rollins College art-faculty exhibition at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum in Rollins College. Many professors have put up their works in this exhibit, which runs until August of this year.
How you can keep art alive
Like we mentioned before, art is something that is so unique to the human species. It would be a shame if it would die out, which is why donating to deserving art causes can be important. The United Arts of Central Florida is currently adding to donations to various organizations. If you want to donate to an art cause, write a check to the United Arts of Central Florida and mention which art institution you want to donate to, the UACC will add 15 percent to your gift! UACC has invested over $126 million to the arts since it 1989!
