Here at Toyota of Orlando, we value our family time. We like to think of ourselves as a huge family, which makes us really happy. When we come across an event that supports and encourages family time, we’re all for it! When we found out that the Orlando Philharmonic will be hosting a free, family-friendly concert this Saturday, we were incredibly thrilled! Family time is something that should be coveted and embraced, so the fact that the Orlando Philharmonic is going to provide the community with a family-friendly event pleases us!
Orlando Philharmonic performs “Peter & The Wolf”
Like we mentioned, we truly love it when family-friendly events happen in our community. This specific event, which will take place on Saturday at 6 pm at Loch Haven Park, will truly be one for the books. The event, which is hosted by Dr. Phillips Charities, will have unique storytelling. The story will be told through a mixture of classical and contemporary music, which will please both parents and children.
However, don’t think this is just a musical event. Families are encouraged to pack their own picnics and bring their own seating to really make it a night out on the park! There will also be food trucks, should you choose to buy your grub! Starting at 4:30 pm, there will be an instrument petting zoo. Make sure you make your way over there early so the kiddos can have fun before the performance! The best part of it all? You can bring Fido along if he’s on his leash!
Charities bring families together
This event was created by Dr. Phillips Charities, in memory of Della Phillips. Della Phillips was citrus pioneer Dr. Phillip Philliips’ wife, and this isn’t the first time they hold and event that brings family together while cultivating the culture of classical music. In 2012, the Orlando Philharmonic performed its “Star-Spangled Birthday” and attracted over 1,500 people! This event is truly one that bring families AND the community together, something we truly appreciate and love!
This event, since it’s geared toward families, is an alcohol-free event. Like we said, make sure you pack a picnic basket full of the yummiest food in order to enjoy the concert! Parents can park for free at the following locations:
- Florida Hospital, 1812 N Mills Avenue
- Florida Hospital garage, Alden Avenue
- Loch Haven Neighborhood Center, 610 North Lake Formosa Avenue
- Magruder Eye Institute, 1911 N Mills Avenue
- McCree Inc., 500 Princeton Street and 2100 Alden Road
As you can see, this event will be beneficial for everyone in the family! Bring the kiddos and the dog to this event, we’re positive you’ll enjoy hanging out with the family and listening to talented artists play music!
