When thinking about self-driving cars, you may picture a scene out of a futuristic movie; however, this technology may be coming to our Toyota dealership near Orlando sooner than you think! That’s right – autonomous cars are no longer thinks we only dream about, it’s actually a reality! Although we don’t know exactly when we’ll be able to see self-driving new Toyota near Orlando, we know the time is getting closer, as the technology gets more advanced.
Google works to make self-driving cars even more advance!
Google has been working on self-driving technology since 2009, along with tons of automakers racing to be the first to bring autonomous cars to the market. In fact, Google’s self-driving vehicle has logged more than 700,000 miles since 2011, when it became street-legal in Nevada. However, most of these miles were driven on the highway, which is much easier to navigate than the city streets.
Now, Google is in the process of fine-tuning these vehicles to be able to navigate the city streets. These self-driving cars are now able to detect and drive around obstacles like pedestrians, stop signs, construction zones, merges, buses, cyclists and more! Plus, it may be even better than humans at all of this, as it can’t get tired or distracted, which can make to road safer for everyone!
Toyota of Clermont dreams about autonomous new Toyota
We know what you’re wondering – will we see self-driving new Toyota near Orlando? Although we predict they’ll be here someday, we don’t know when. However, we know that Toyota is already integrating certain self-driving features into our new Toyota near Orlando for convenience and safety purposes! It’s predicted that vehicles will start to include more of these features throughout the years until they’re eventually entirely autonomous! Some of these features you can find on our new Toyota include:
- Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: We’re all already familiar with cruise control, which allows us to take our foot off the gas pedal and still keep our speed. However, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control takes it further by using radar technology to sense cars around you and automatically adjusts your speed to keep a safe distance from the car in front of you!
- Pre-Collision System: The Pre-Collision System also uses a radar system to sense when a frontal collision is about to happen. Once it senses this, it’ll automatically apply the brakes and retract the seatbelts to avoid or defuse the severity of the collision.
- Lane Keep Assist: This feature can detect when you’re leaving your lane unexpectedly and will give you an audible warning. If the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is on, it’ll even help keep your vehicle in its lane with corrective steering.
