The holidays are a great time to plan family outings, fun date nights, and quality time out with your friends. If like me, you’re looking forward to spending the holidays in Orlando with your loved ones, you’ll want to check this list of ways to celebrate this magical season! Let’s get started:
1. Light up the town.
You don’t need to plan a major outing to have a great time this Christmas season. Sometimes, all it takes is loading up the car with snacks and to-go cups filled with hot cocoa, and heading out to see the town lights. Plenty of neighborhoods light up the city and have fun activities all month long. Some notable sights to visit include:
- Holiday Light Show at Light Up UCF
- Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree Show
- Santa’s Winter Wonderland Village
Other cool places you will definitely want to check out are Disney Springs, Winter Park, and Baldwin Park. You can even make a day of it and pack up a picnic or head over to one of these after a day of Christmas shopping!
2. Head to a theme park.
If it’s an all-day, all-fun holiday experience you’re after, you might want to check out the theme parks this time of year. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom is arguably one of the biggest Christmas celebrations at a theme park. It’s a separately ticketed event and an expensive one at that. But it is oh-so-magical and worth it!
Other fun theme park options include:
- Legoland Christmas Bricktacular
- Grinchmas at Universal’s Island of Adventure
- SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration
3. Check out ICE! at Gaylord Palms.
This annual attraction is a must-visit at least once in your life. Every year is a different theme, and this year, you get to witness Charlie Brown learn the true meaning of Christmas through interactive, hand-carved ice sculptures. Over 2 million pounds of ice were used to create these displays, so the room is kept at a chilly nine degrees! But don’t fret. They supply you with a parka to keep you warm — still, dress for the cold!
4. Go ice skating.
You read that right! You can actually go ice skating in a few places around Orlando this season. It makes the perfect date night or family night, and it’s relatively inexpensive. Check out the ice skating rink at Central Park West Meadow in Winter Park, head over to the Ice Factory in Kissimmee, or visit the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den in Maitland.
5. Visit I-Drive 360 for the Frostival.
Guests at I-Drive 360 can enjoy a completely decked out courtyard with string lights, snow machines, a 20-foot Christmas tree, and even an outdoor ice-skating rink. And if you ride the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, you can indulge in some holiday spirit inside one of four themed holiday capsules complete with holiday music (themes: Gingerbread House, Winter Wonderland, The Night Before Christmas, and Candy Canes).
Our family of Orlando Toyota dealerships wishes you a happy holiday!
Wherever this holiday season takes you, we hope you have a spectacular time with your friends and family!
