We are less than two weeks away from Halloween! If you haven’t had the chance to get your holiday fright yet, we’ve got a few fun activities you can do this weekend that will surely get you in the spirit of All Hallows Eve.
Whether you’re in the mood for something theatrical, an action-packed spook, or just a bit of fall fun, we have something for you below:
Haunted Trails for thrill-seekers:
Every year, Central Florida theme parks go all-out for Halloween with haunted houses and creepy-fied walkways. One spooktacular event that never disappoints is Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando. Running select nights through October 31st, there’s no time like the present to immerse yourself in the worlds of some of the biggest names in horror!
If you’re looking for a spook on a budget, check out a local favorite, A Petrified Forest. Starting at just $15, it’s one of the highest rated Halloween scare trails in the area. Plus, they’re bringing double the screams this year with two scare trails – if you dare!
Spooky shows for the artsy undead:
If you want to try something different this Halloween, you’ll want to check out the DRIP Underground Vampire Bar. DRIP’s cool, warehouse-like bar gets a blood-curdling Halloween makeover for the month of October – and it’s bound to be a frightfully delightful experience. Featuring a “blood” bar, an amazing full theatrical Vampire show with paint and flying water, an interactive blood shower, DJ music, and much more, it will be a refreshing alternative to the average Fright Night.
Are you looking for a more traditional theater experience? If so, go see “Phantasmagoria VII: The Cards they are Dealt,” at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center this weekend! The show combines live performers, dance, stage combat, aerial performance and more to weave a haunting story. There will be one show every night at 8 PM, and general admission is just $25.
Scary Movies for the brave souls:
If you are in the mood for something with less physical activity and maybe a bit more gore, then check out the 11th Annual FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival. Not only are you supporting local talent, but you’re also experiencing independent horror films and indulging your freakish viewing appetite!
If you’re looking for a more classic Halloween movie experience, we suggest you head over to Midnight Movies at Enzian Theater this Saturday night to watch Carnival of Souls. There’s something undeniably eerie about a black and white horror movie from the 60s!
Ghoulish fun for everyone:
If you’re looking for a more inclusive, family-friendly evening out, head over to the Boo ‘n Brew Fall Festival at Waterford Lakes Town Center. Not only can your little ones trick-or-treat in a safe environment, but you can also have some fun! Enjoy ice cold brews and compete in games – and if you get hungry, grab a fully catered meal by Smokey Bones.
Wherever this weekend takes you, we hope you have a safe and happy Halloween-filled time!
