Starting off the weekend is always great – except today is Friday the 13th! Are you prepared to be spooked? Have a little fun on this Friday the 13th and visit some haunted places around Orlando that are sure to give you a fright! The team at our Orlando auto dealership has put together a list of haunted places that you can go on a creepy adventure to. Check out the list below… if you dare!
Annie Russell Theater at Rollins College: Visit this haunted theatre for a show or just to catch a glimpse of the wandering spirit! Annie Russel was a renowned theatre performer back in 1918. It’s said her spirit still hangs around her favorite Orlando theatre. Visitors have mentioned seeing a ghostly figure sitting in the theatre seats, hearing clapping, and seeing orbs.
Orange County Regional History Center: If you’re brave enough take a trip to the Orange County Regional History Center located in the heart of Orlando. The History Center used to serve as a jail since the 1850’s. Many people have seen former inmates, employees, and bailiffs wandering around. A ghost names Emily wanders around looking for her father while a criminal too dangerous to let out has been haunting a room. Whenever visitors enter they get a sick and uneasy feeling, sometimes even seeing a hand reach through the door. Make sure you don’t forget to stop by the desk where notorious mass murderer, Ted Bundy carved his name while he was being tried.
Enzian Theater: Catch a show at this movie theater located just outside of Orlando. It hosts the Florida Film Festival and some spooky spirits. Workers have been known to hear screams and see a head floating in the north corner of the theater around 1 am.
Ma Barkers house: Shoot down to the final hideout of Ma Barker, notorious gang leader. It was here one of the longest shoot outs in FBI history. Over 1,500 rounds were shot into this house where the gang leader and her son, Fred were hiding out. At the time of the shootout, Ma Barker was considered “Public Enemy #1” by authorities. The property near Orlando is the perfect spot to hit up this Friday the 13th.
Spook Hill: The legend of Spook Hill has been celebrated for year in the small town of Lake Wales just outside of Orlando. Legend has it many years ago an Indian Village was harassed by a beastly alligator. The Indian Chief went to battle with the gator defeating it. When the Chief died he was buried on the north side of the hill. When the road was paved, cars coasted up hill. The question remains “is this gator seeking revenge, or is the Chief still trying to protect his land?” Stop by for a visit and let your car roll up hill yourself tonight… if you’re brave enough.
We hope you have a great Friday the 13th! Remember, our Orlando Automotive Family wants you to stay safe while you’re out on your creepy adventure tonight.
