Have you had a chance to check out Florida’s best camping spots? Before it gets too hot this summer pack up your Toyota and take a short drive to one of our favorite camp sites. If you’re looking to get closed to nature this weekend, then a camping trip is just what you need! The team at our Toyota dealerships in Orlando has decided which camping destinations are worth the trip. Take a look at which spots made the cut!
Wekiwa Springs State Park
Just a short drive from the busy city of Orlando rests the beautiful Wekiwa Springs. This state park has everything you need to feel at one with nature. With a clean camping area and many different amenities, this park is at the top of our list. You’re able to swim and snorkel in the natural spring, which stays a cool 72 degrees all year around. You can also rent a canoe or kayak and travel down the river to visit Wekiva Island or Rock springs for a change in scenery. This is the perfect close get away for a quick weekend camping trip!
Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park
This camping site is for the more adventurous because you are only able to reach them by hiking or biking. The great part about this camp ground is that it is very secluded so it’s perfect for star gazing. The Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park has a prairie-bug tour which is a 2-3 hour tour that shows you the wildlife and scenery of the preserve. If you are looking for a place that is more secluded and away from people, this State Park is the best!
Anastasia State Park
Enjoy the beach and the woods at the Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine! This park is the perfect combination of the best places to camp. You’ll be able to keep the whole family entertained all weekend long. Anastasia State Park is a little bit of a drive from Orlando, but well worth it. The kids can search for seashells or build sand castles on the shore. You can also go on a family canoe ride along Salt Run. This camp site includes areas to fish, bike and hike. Don’t forget to check out a show at the amphitheater. Bring the camper or go basic and pitch a tent!
Sebastian Inlet State Park
Go from the busy city of Orlando to the peaceful shores of Melbourne Beach. If you want to spend your weekend fishing and surfing, Sebastian Inlet is perfect! The tent site is a short walk to the beach and a short ride away from the Indian River Lagoon. If you’re lucky you can even find a coin washed ashore from the sunken Spanish Treasure Fleet of 1715!
Spend this weekend somewhere relaxing. If you want to get away from the busy city of Orlando and immerse yourself in Florida’s beautiful nature, these top camping spots are the way to go! Be sure to travel safe and have a fun camping trip!
