August 1st is just a few days away! Can you believe how fast this summer has flown by? School is just around the corner, and it’s time to plan the last summer get together of the year. One of the best parts about the summer is the chance to make memories with the rest of the family. The Orlando Automotive Family is here to give you suggestions on what you can do to make some long-lasting memories.
Don’t let the rain keep you away from the outdoors
Just because there might be a ten-minute storm or some scattered showers throughout the day, the doesn’t mean stay inside the whole time! Umbrellas and rain coats were invented for a reason. Here are some fun things to do outdoors during these last few weeks of summer, even if there is some rainfall:
Check out some outdoor retail, shopping, dining, and entertainment all in one place
Finding everything you need in one place is convenient. Luckily, there are a few places in Orlando where you can find everything from exclusive stores and one of a kind entertainment. Some of our favorites include Disney Springs and Universal Orlando’s CityWalk. Be sure to check out these places if you want to get a little bit of everything on your day out with the family.
Enjoy nature in a local park or garden
If you’re worried about rain, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the parks that Orlando has to offer. Some local favorites include Lake Eola, Harry P. Leu Gardens, Magnolia Park, and Lake Toho. You can choose whether to take a nature stroll, have a picnic, or join in on a local event. Just remember, bring rain gear like umbrellas just in case.
Indoor fun for the whole family
Sometimes the rain in Orlando can be a bit too much. On days like that, here are some suggestions that we can give you:
Create your own film festival
Does your family have a few favorite movies? Bring them all together for a family film festival! The best part of this plan is the fact you can choose everything from the movies to the menu. Make sure you have plenty of candy and popcorn and a proper supply of films.
Camp out indoors
Did you have camping plans that are now disrupted thanks to the weather? Plan an indoor camping trip! You can make smores, build a tent with pillows and blankets, and even tell ghost stories! Just because you can’t be outside, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy all that a traditional camping experience has to offer. And the best part is? There will be fewer bugs to deal with!
The Orlando Automotive Family hopes that with these last few weeks left before school, you’ll be able to make some long-lasting summer memories!
